Where We’ve Been

  • Greenways (over 10 miles in design plan)
    (almost $900K – does not include $800K grant City obtained utilizing our design docs)
    • fundraising, research, design, surveying, construction drawings, partner with City
    • sponsor FROGS (Friends of the Greenway) group
    • Status:
      • Phase One 1.2 miles asphalt path from Tuckaseege Park to Municipal Complex OPEN
      • Mountain Island Park section, natural path, 1.5 miles
      • Dutchmans Creek section, officially opening on April 24th
  • Downtown
    • Revitalization bonds and ABC support
    • Historic District study and designation (includes tax credits for improvements)
      • plaques for buildings
      • also started group that became Historical Society
    • Beautification: pocket gardens, gateways, downtown planters, courtyard garden
  • Farmers Market (which in turn incubated Community Garden)
  • 5K/10K Run/Walk annually
  • EDC Committee (Main Street program education; Merchant Association support; shop local events)
  • Arts on Main/Autumn on Main/Mount Holly Days/Mt Holly Art & Music Festival
  • Photo Contest
  • Leap Outdoors at Tuck Park
